Bybit Strengthens Its Position in the UAE

Bybit is taking major steps toward a regulated institutional future as it secures important licenses and expands its global compliance framework. At the BIG Series Institutional Gala in Dubai, CEO Ben Zhou explained that the company’s new Virtual Asset Platform Operator license in the United Arab Emirates marks a turning point. He said the approval signals Bybit’s readiness to support professional capital under strict oversight. This license allows the exchange to build a complete institutional product suite from one of the world’s strongest regulatory environments.

Institutions that want predictable and secure digital asset markets view the UAE’s framework as a key advantage. Bybit’s move positions the exchange as a reliable partner for firms seeking regulated exposure to crypto futures and other advanced products.

European Expansion Gains Momentum

Bybit is also accelerating its regulatory progress in Europe. Through its Vienna based Bybit EU Group, the exchange already holds a MiCAR license that covers spot crypto trading. It recently applied for a MiFID II license, which would allow regulated derivatives such as futures and options across the European Economic Area.

This step builds on Bybit’s existing European approvals and reflects a regulatory first approach. If granted, the license will support a harmonized structure for institutional futures markets, giving traditional finance players more confidence as they explore digital assets.

Product Upgrades Aim at Institutional Demand

Alongside regulatory work, Bybit is rolling out infrastructure upgrades to attract high frequency traders and hedge funds. Key enhancements include:

  • Low latency trading gateways
  • Credit suites for institutional workflows
  • Advanced tools designed for professional trading environments

Industry analysts say these efforts match a broader market trend. As regulatory clarity increases, more institutional capital is expected to move into crypto. Bybit’s strategy not only strengthens its competitive position but also supports the larger shift toward mature and compliant digital asset markets.
