《When Did You Suddenly Understand Your Parents》

Some things are like a heavy stone pressing on your heart for a long time, but suddenly, at a certain moment, you let go of it.

I used to not understand why my parents' love always hidden in blame, why their words could be so stubborn sometimes. I also didn't understand why they always thought that “not getting married and not having children is selfish.”

Until later, I saw them arguing with their own parents, just like I argued with them. They wanted to take Grandpa and Grandma out to play, but the elderly refused and even lost their temper.

They thought the elders were "ungrateful," but in fact, Grandpa and Grandma were just afraid of becoming a burden to their children, afraid of spending money.

A few days ago, I tried to see things from their perspective, and suddenly everything made sense.

It turns out, it's not that we don't love, but that we are living in different eras. Grandpa and Grandma experienced times when even basic needs were hard to meet, my parents grew up in a newly developing era, and we are living in today's information-flooded world.

We all used a “language” that the other couldn't understand to express love. As a result, talking became more exhausting, loving more lonely. In fact, we are all the same, clumsily loving each other in ways we don't understand.
