On January 5th, CEX, after approximately one year of officially entering Argentina, one of Latin America’s most active crypto markets, will cease supporting Argentine Peso to USDC trading and local bank withdrawals on January 31st. Cryptocurrency swapping services will still be available. A CEX spokesperson stated that this is a deliberate pause to allow us to reassess CEX’s presence in the Argentine market and to return with a stronger, more sustainable product. It is reported that the Central Bank of Argentina is considering amending current regulations to prohibit banks from engaging in activities related to digital assets, which could take effect as early as April this year.
