The Korean financial sector is taking action—planning to introduce a "temporary account freeze" mechanism. The core logic is straightforward: if someone is suspected of manipulating the coin price, freeze their account before they withdraw cash from the exchange. The Financial Services Commission (FSC) is studying this plan, intending to transplant the regulatory standards from the stock market into the crypto field.

The timing is quite interesting—Korea is advancing to the second phase of crypto legislation, with stablecoins and market manipulation operations becoming the focus. If implemented, the regulatory stance will shift from "post-event auditing" to "real-time intervention," increasing scrutiny on high-frequency trading, automated bots, and those bizarre short-term fluctuations. For exchanges, this means the rules are changing.

Korea's move is a bit harsh, directly freezing accounts... feels like exchanges are about to start trembling.

ngl, this real-time account freezing thing is just adapting traditional market surveillance to crypto... the governance implications here are actually fascinating though. makes me wonder about the technical implementation - how do they timestamp the freeze at consensus layer? merkle proofs for proof of manipulation?
