He Lifeng Leads Delegation to France for Economic and Trade Consultations with the US

On Friday, China’s Ministry of Commerce spokesperson said that, through negotiations between China and the U.S., Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council He Lifeng will lead a delegation to France from March 14 to 17 for economic and trade talks. Both sides will be guided by the important consensus reached during the Korea Busan summit and previous calls between the leaders, focusing on economic and trade issues of mutual concern.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced on Thursday that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will meet with He Lifeng in France on March 15 and 16.

Bessent posted on social media that he will meet again with He Lifeng in Paris to continue the U.S.-China trade and economic dialogue. Media reports also indicate that U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai will participate in the relevant meetings.

Earlier, President Trump revealed plans to visit China at the end of March to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. Both sides are preparing for the Xi-Trump summit.
