Consumers can resolve consumption disputes nearby in commercial districts. Recently, four consumer rights protection workstations were officially established at Wanda Plaza in Tongzhou District, Aegean Sea Shopping Park, Juran Home Tongzhou Branch, and Beijing Mobile Tongzhou Branch.

“We selected four reputable key enterprises to set up workstations. The main goal is to shift consumer dispute resolution from ‘post-incident remedy’ to ‘source prevention and front-end resolution,’” said Wu Di, Secretary-General of Tongzhou District Consumer Association. The four newly established workstations are located in core commercial areas and key consumption scenes within the sub-center, built according to uniform standards, equipped with professional staff and standardized office facilities, achieving a “three-in-one” setup of position, work, and service. Their core responsibilities include handling and resolving consumer disputes within their enterprises and commercial circles, promoting consumer legal awareness, sharing complaint information, and implementing rights protection tasks assigned by the consumer association, ensuring rights protection services reach the frontline of consumption.

Tongzhou District Consumer Association staff said that in the future, consumers encountering disputes while shopping—whether related to product quality or after-sales service—can first seek help at the workstation. Staff will promptly receive and register complaints, verify the situation quickly, coordinate with merchants and consumers to negotiate solutions, and accelerate dispute resolution. Currently, the shopping malls have designated personnel responsible for daily complaint reception and handling at the workstations. For complex or difficult issues, they will immediately communicate with the consumer association for guidance, striving to ensure that “disputes are resolved within the commercial district and rights are protected nearby.”

Moreover, consumer complaints handled by these four workstations will be automatically included in the consumer association’s consultation and complaint hotline’s green channel. The workstations will regularly analyze complaint hotspots, provide feedback and improvement suggestions to merchants, and reduce the occurrence of consumer disputes from the source. The Tongzhou District Consumer Association stated that next, they will carry out regular business guidance, professional capacity building, and standardized supervision for the newly established workstations. They also plan to expand the workstation model to more key commercial districts,特色消费场景, and industries.
