China's poverty alleviation achievements have withstood the test of practice and history.
The press conference for the Fourth Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference was held this afternoon (March 3). Spokesperson Liu Jianyi introduced the relevant information about the conference and answered questions from the media. Liu Jiany explained that in 2020, China achieved a comprehensive victory in poverty alleviation, historically solving the absolute poverty problem that has plagued the Chinese nation for thousands of years and creating a miracle that will be remembered in history. The international community highly praised China, recognizing its significant contribution to global poverty reduction and setting an inspiring example. Over the past five years, counties in impoverished areas across China have built high-speed roads, villages are connected by roads, and network signals are fully covered. The mountainous regions have undergone tremendous changes, transforming lives, and the bottom line of preventing large-scale return to poverty has been firmly maintained. Significant progress has been made in rural revitalization. China’s poverty alleviation achievements have withstood the test of practice and history, strongly proving to the world that poverty is not invincible. (CCTV News)
