Iran's Foreign Minister Says End of War Depends on Ensuring No Further "Aggression"
Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian on the 16th stated that the war between the United States and Israel against Iran must end in a way that guarantees “no more aggression,” and he said that the U.S. and Israel have “learned their lesson,” realizing they are facing a country that is ready to defend itself without hesitation and to continue the war. Abdollahian made these remarks at the weekly press conference held by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He said, “Our saying that we do not want a ceasefire is not because we want to continue the war, but because this time, the war must end in a way that makes the enemy never dare to launch attacks and aggression again.” Abdollahian claimed that the U.S. and Israel have mobilized all their forces in an attempt to force Iran to “unconditionally surrender,” but Iran is conducting a “glorious” resistance and will continue to resist unwaveringly. He reiterated that Iran has not issued any ceasefire request. After more than two weeks of conflict, the U.S. and Israel have begun seeking help from other countries, hoping they will assist in ensuring the safety of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s stance is that the Strait of Hormuz is closed only to “enemies and their allies, as well as unjust aggressors who launch attacks against our country.” (Xinhua)
