Oracle is enhancing its Fusion application suite with intelligent agents powered by artificial intelligence (AI), aiming to transform office software from a supporting role into a tool for actual execution. Today, Oracle announced the release of Fusion Intelligent Agent applications included in the Fusion Cloud suite. These applications are designed to derive conclusions, make decisions, and take actions across workflows such as finance, human resources, supply chain, and customer experience.

This release is part of a broad shift in enterprise software from record-keeping systems to execution systems. Oracle management explained that this move builds on previous investments in assistive technologies and AI assistants but represents a more fundamental architectural change. The newly launched Fusion Intelligent Agent applications are built around a set of dedicated AI agents that collaborate to achieve specific business objectives.

These applications run natively within Oracle’s transaction systems, with access to enterprise data, workflows, policies, and approval hierarchies. This enables the agents to perform complex workflows while maintaining governance and auditability. Initially, Oracle will introduce 22 intelligent agent applications covering multiple business functions, with the ability to adjust automation levels with customer consent. Customers can increase automation as needed, and Oracle hopes this will expand the foundation for enterprise automation.
