Gate News reports that on March 10th, open-source AI application and agent workflow development platform Dify announced the completion of a $30 million pre-A funding round, valuing the company at $180 million. The round was led by HongShan (formerly Sequoia China), with participation from GL Ventures, Alt-Alpha Capital (a new fund spun off from Bessemer Venture Partners), Five Origin Capital, Mizuho Leaguer Investment, and NYX Ventures. Dify offers a visual workflow builder combined with prompt management, tool integration, knowledge retrieval, and observability—providing production-grade infrastructure to help teams move AI applications from prototypes to production. The platform launched in 2023 and is currently one of the most starred open-source projects on GitHub, with over 1.4 million machines deployed worldwide. More than 2,000 teams and 280 companies are using its commercial version, including shipping company Maersk, educational assessment organization ETS, consumer electronics brand Anker Innovations, and pharmaceutical company Novartis. Dify founder and CEO Luyu Zhang stated that the funds will be used to integrate cutting-edge agent capabilities into core products, build a dedicated enterprise product team focused on performance and compliance, launch a developer community support program, and continue lowering adoption barriers for teams.
