Amazon CEO: AI to Drive AWS Revenue Over the Next Decade to Double to $600 Billion

Gate News, March 18 — Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced during an all-hands meeting that he previously predicted AWS would reach $300 billion in annual revenue in ten years. With the development of AI, he now believes this figure could at least double, reaching over $600 billion before 2036. AWS’s total revenue for 2025 was $128.7 billion. Addressing Wall Street’s concerns about Amazon’s $200 billion capital expenditure plan for this year, Jassy responded, “We are not spending this money because we expect AI to have a major breakthrough.” He stated that the company has “very clear and significant demand signals.” He explained that the faster AWS grows, the higher the short-term capital expenditure, as land, electricity, buildings, chips, servers, and network equipment all need to be planned two years in advance.
