According to a report by 9to5Mac, Apple released iOS 26.4 on March 24, and for the first time added a “voice dialog-style application” category for CarPlay. Before this, CarPlay strictly limited the types of apps allowed, only permitting features such as audio, navigation, and charging to be listed. OpenAI, in this update, also introduced support for voice interaction within the app, further expanding its functionality on CarPlay.
