Exposing the Virtual Currency Pyramid Scheme: The Layered Game of Cutting Leeks Behind High-Return Promises

【ChainWen】Online pyramid schemes are getting creative again. In a recent case, 15 suspects operated a virtual currency trading platform without real-name verification under the banner of “everything valuable in the world can be tokenized.” How do they fleece users? The tricks are actually quite old.

First, they create their own coins, deliberately inflate the price, and then lure users to recharge with promises of “high returns.” The key point—based on how much you invest, the platform assigns you an “identity level.” The higher the level, the more attractive the promised returns. This tactic attracts many “old members” to recruit new ones because as long as you develop downlines, you can earn direct referral rewards.

The entire organization forms a hierarchical system of three or more levels, with participation exceeding a thousand people, a typical pyramid structure. Where does the money come from? Participants have little understanding of virtual currencies; staff regularly hold classes to persuade them with “high returns and low risk,” and even help with recharges—users give RMB, and staff exchange it into virtual currency to invest.

The core logic of this scheme is: latecomers are at the bottom, and those at the top harvest profits. Virtual currency is just a cover; essentially, it’s the old pyramid scheme routine. Currently, the relevant suspects have been legally dealt with.

A reminder to everyone: any project promising stable high returns, encouraging you to keep recruiting others, and profiting from developing downlines, is almost certainly a trap. In the chaotic Web3 space, such cases are not uncommon. While exchanges provide convenience, self-protection awareness is even more important. Don’t be dazzled by shiny promises of profits.

Here we go again with this routine? Layering, recruiting, creating coins—same old recipe with a different name.

I've seen through this trick a long time ago; the game of recruiting others is always the same old pyramid scheme. High returns with low risk, and a hierarchical system—it's a classic pyramid, brother. The trick of proxy recharge is brilliant; they're just afraid you'll realize and try to run. Just watch the show; don't be fooled into getting involved. Old veterans can run fast, but new recruits are the real victims.

It's the same old trick again, recruiting people to make a profit from the price difference. Truly unbelievable.

Another old and worn-out money-grabbing scheme, same old trick with a different name --- Oh, this pyramid structure is all too familiar. Still playing this game in 2024 --- Recruiting people, layering levels, promising high returns... is that all? I'm already tired of it --- The "proxy recharge" trick is brilliant, do people really believe it? --- Only solved cases with over a thousand people? This efficiency is truly worrying --- "Anything valuable can be tokenized," just hearing this phrase makes it obvious who the chives are --- It's always like this—high returns with low risk? Wake up, everyone --- Why do people keep falling for this? Truly forgetful --- Staff regularly hold classes to deceive; I've seen this tactic too many times --- The pyramid is the core; the lower levels can never be fully exploited

It's the same old trick again, hierarchy + recruiting, daring to fool people with a different coin name. --- Still playing pyramid schemes with a thousand people? Clearly, some people are really brainless. --- The trick of代充值 is perfect, directly helping you commit the crime, truly thoughtful. --- Tired of hearing high returns and low risks? How are people still falling for it? --- Coin creation and price manipulation, the classic three methods, every time new rookies come knocking. --- Daring to accept such large orders without real-name verification platforms, really bold. --- So, as long as the promise exceeds market returns, it's basically a scam. --- The most outrageous part is the commission for recruiting, turning participants into accomplices. --- The higher the hierarchy, the more ruthless the cut, really well-designed.
