3.9 million followers account promotes fake coin scandal, Solana ecosystem faces false association trap

【Crypto World】A Shiba Inu-related X account with 3.9 million followers recently got into trouble. This account started promoting a Solana-based token, Hachiko (HACHI), and the backlash was immediate—community members voiced strong opposition.

Where’s the problem? The account emphasized the similarity of contract address prefixes, subtly implying a connection between the two projects. This is clearly misleading. Ecosystem projects including Oscar Token have come forward to point out that such promotion is seriously misleading holders and completely deviates from SHIB’s original vision.

Even more outrageous, this isn’t the first time. The account previously caused a stir by promoting Shiro Neko tokens. The official has long issued a fraud warning, explicitly stating that this account is not affiliated with the Shiba Inu official team, and the promotion activities are not authorized by the ecosystem. Yet, they continue to promote regardless.

What does this tell us? Having a large follower base doesn’t equal credibility; even accounts with huge numbers can be used as tools for false promotion. Solana ecosystem participants and token holders need to stay vigilant and beware of schemes that use similarities to create fake associations.
