FTX executives admit guilt: New developments in SEC enforcement, three former executives reach settlement

Abstract generation in progress

【BlockBeats】There is big news in the circle. On December 20th, the SEC took multiple actions—officially issuing final penalty notices to three former executives of FTX and its affiliated companies. This enforcement case involving the exchange’s collapse continues to advance.

Speaking of the main figures, SBF (Sam Bankman-Fried) is still serving time in federal prison for fraud, but the former head of Alameda Research, Caroline Ellison, as well as FTX Trading’s former CTO Zixiao Wang and former Co-Head of Engineering Nishad Singh, have all chosen to admit guilt. They have agreed to settle with the SEC, but final approval from the court is still pending.

The penalty terms are quite strict. The three individuals are permanently barred from serving as managers or sitting on boards of other companies—Caroline Ellison’s ban period has been extended to 10 years, while the other two are barred for 8 years. In addition, they will also face a five-year “behavioral injunction.” In plain terms, these individuals are essentially saying goodbye to executive roles in the crypto industry.

How to put this FTX situation? One after another, people are being thrown in. The SEC hasn't budged this time. SBF is already in, and now it's the turn of his subordinates. It seems this liquidation will continue.

Here we go again with admissions of guilt. This time, the SEC really didn't let go. --- SBF is still inside, and Alameda can't run away either. --- Honestly, the FTX matter should have been settled long ago. What's the point of dragging it out? --- All three admitting guilt together? Looks like they're all going to take the fall. --- SBF probably saw the news in federal prison too, haha. --- SEC's efficiency—if it weren't for major cases, they wouldn't be able to move at all. --- Admitting guilt and it's over? What about the users' money? --- Why do the latecomers always admit guilt first, while the main figures end up serving long sentences? --- Finally, there's some follow-up on Alameda. We've been waiting quite a while for this. --- The question is, how much can they pay in fines for admitting guilt? Still that old question. --- Three executives going down together shows the evidence is solid.

SBF is in jail, and Caroline can't escape either? It seems that the SEC is really planning to expose the whole FTX mess this time.

SBF is in, now it's your turn to go down with the ship? That's just how this circle is.

Another news about cutting leeks, is the FTX mess not over yet? SBF is in jail, Caroline can't escape either, serves her right. SEC's speed is really slow... Is this the future of Web3? Laughable. What can three people admitting guilt do? The money has already been transferred. That group at Alameda, none of them should think about escaping. I just want to know when the compensation will be made. Another settlement? Why not just go to jail directly? Where is the promised decentralization? Turns out it's all controlled by the SEC. How many billions will they fine this time? Betting five bucks, it won't exceed ten billion.

another round of settlement theater from the sec... like they're actually solving systemic risk here lol. sbf rots, carolines settle, and the real vulnerabilities stay buried in protocol code where nobody's looking. classic.

FTX this scandal really never ends, just three people admitting guilt and it's over? Feels like this is just the beginning SBF is still inside, this case will eventually turn around SEC again, and the bankruptcy wave, this exchange is really beyond saving The king of chaos, in the end, still gets caught, hilarious I find it a bit ironic that the three admit guilt, but the real big players are still hidden This speed is faster than I eat, something's off The story of FTX is more exciting than a movie, we're just at the prologue

This FTX thing isn't over yet... SBF is in jail, and his team still has to face penalties.
