Gate 2025 Year-End Community Gala #Strategy Boosts BTC Allocation

At 3 a.m., my phone kept ringing nonstop. A buddy’s panicked voice message came through directly: "I opened a 10,000 yuan position with 5x leverage, only lost 5%, and my leverage account exploded. What’s going on?"

I looked at his trading record and immediately understood—he almost went all-in, with no stop-loss set.

This is the most common death trap in the crypto world: many people believe that full position can "withstand" volatility, but in reality, full position is the fastest way to self-destruct.

Why is full position so easy to blow up? Many blame leverage, but the real culprit is **position size**.

Here's an example: you have 1,000 yuan in your account, and you use 900 yuan to open a 5x leveraged position. A 5% price move in the opposite direction can wipe out your account. But if you only use 100 yuan to open the same 5x leverage, it takes a 50% move against you to blow up. The difference is huge.

My buddy’s problem, to put it simply, is: **Too large a position, so that even slight market movements leave no room to retreat**.

I’ve managed to go half a year without liquidation and keep my account steadily growing by following three iron rules:

**Rule 1: Single position no more than 20% of total funds**

For a 100,000 yuan account, no more than 20,000 yuan per trade. Even if I make a wrong judgment and set a 10% stop-loss, losing 2,000 yuan, it’s just a small setback, and the account can still continue.

**Rule 2: Max loss per trade no more than 3% of total funds**

Use 20,000 yuan to open a 10x leverage position, with a 1.5% stop-loss, which is 300 yuan. Even if I make several wrong moves, I won’t be wiped out, and I still have room to adjust.

**Rule 3: No trading without trend, no adding positions with profit**

Only trade breakouts, only take confirmed setups. Even in choppy markets, patience is key. Emotional trading is the easiest way to lose money; discipline is the capital.

When can full position be used?

Honestly, only in one situation: **Light position for trial and error combined with strict risk control**, leaving buffer for market volatility, rather than risking everything on a gamble.

A fan once kept blowing up his account every month, but after following this process, starting with 5,000 yuan, he turned it into 80,000 in three months. He finally told me something I’ve always remembered:

"Before, full position was a gamble for my life; now I realize, full position is actually to live more steadily."

In the crypto world, the competition is never about **who earns the fastest**, but **who can survive the longest**. Stop guessing market ups and downs, focus more on position management. Sometimes being a bit slow can actually help you go further.
