What is Ethereum's true mission? Vitalik Buterin provided a clear answer in a recent long article: this project has never been about making financial markets operate faster and more efficiently.

The real goal is liberation—giving humanity freedom and security. This positioning is especially important in today's unpredictable global situation. Vitalik emphasizes that resilience is the DNA of Ethereum. It is not just a feature, but the core of its entire design philosophy—no matter how the outside world changes, this chain must be able to provide users with that stable protection.

This perspective has reshaped many people's understanding of Ethereum.

Alright, it's another bunch of idealistic grand narratives—liberation, freedom, security... sounds impressive, but what about at the user level? Gas fees still cut into users' profits, and the network still gets congested.

Finally, someone has spoken out. Bitcoin talks about freedom, Ethereum talks about resilience. Why hasn't anyone really thought about the true difference?

Someone finally said it. I've always thought that Ethereum is just like this. It's called liberation in a nice way, or resistance to censorship in a harsh way... that's the real point. Resilience? Sounds good, but can it really stand the test? Why does it seem like Vitalik has been especially fond of posting long statements lately? Is he preparing for something? But to be honest, this positioning is indeed much more highbrow than simply pursuing efficiency.

Speaking of Vitalik, he really laid it all out this time, but it seems most people still only care about how much they can earn. Not many seem to truly understand the core of resilience.

This is what I want to hear! Not that talk about cutting leeks, true decentralization should feel like this.

This is the true spirit of Web3, not just speculating on coins. Finally, someone has spoken out—resilience is much more important than Layer2 performance. Liberation and security—only after hearing Vitalik say this did I understand what the underlying logic of Ethereum is. I used to think incorrectly, only focusing on speed and efficiency, but I didn't grasp the core point. But to be honest, how many people are truly working for this mission now?
