XRP Ledger’s former Chief Technology Officer and co-founder David Schwartz has retired from Ripple, but he will continue to serve as a board member and provide consulting services for XRP stacking cryptocurrency treasury company Evernorth. He shared his retirement plans with his usual humorous tone: “Thinking about some profound and important things,” such as strawberry ice cream. Meanwhile, Ripple President Monica Long outlined the company’s strategy for 2026, emphasizing vertical integration to build a complete cryptocurrency technology stack that includes blockchain, RLUSD, and Palisade custodial services. Long confirmed that the company plans to accelerate infrastructure development through technology acquisitions and attract over 1,000 enterprise clients via the GTreasury platform, but currently has no plans to acquire a cryptocurrency exchange.
