What makes Walrus attractive to traditional capital? The answer became clear in the first half of this year. As a decentralized storage infrastructure, it has completed a $140 million funding round, backed by top institutions like a16z crypto and Franklin Templeton. More importantly, Grayscale launched the Walrus Trust product in June this year, directly opening a compliant entry channel for accredited investors. This means institutions can share in the growth dividends of the storage sector without directly holding crypto assets.

Why is this so noteworthy? First, in terms of liquidity. The influx of institutional funds will inevitably enhance market depth, and the pricing power of WAL will gradually shift from retail investors to institutions. Second, with the deflationary mechanism in place. Every transaction in WAL's design destroys a portion of tokens, and as storage demand increases, this deflationary pressure continues to strengthen, directly boosting scarcity.

Currently, the DePIN sector is entering a period of concentrated institutional capital allocation. During this window, Walrus, as a benchmark project for storage infrastructure, still has vast potential that has not been fully tapped. From funding progress and ecosystem endorsement to product innovation, multiple signals are pointing upward.

Now retail investors' pricing power is about to be divided again, and institutional entry truly changes the game rules.

The combination of a deflationary mechanism and institutional entry really packs a punch.

It's another 140 million funding and a16z. We've heard this routine so many times; by the time it actually makes money, retail investors are long out of the game.

ngl this grayscale trust move is exactly how institutions launder their way into depin without getting their hands dirty... tokenomics looking spicy tho, deflationary mechanics on every tx? that's the kind of squeeze play i live for

140 million USD financing + Grayscale endorsement, now institutions are really about to start buying the dip, retail investors' pricing power is gradually slipping away... The deflationary mechanism burns while increasing demand, this is true scarcity, not just hype. During this window for DePIN, Walrus has indeed secured a good position, now it depends on how the ecosystem develops later. The backing from a16z and Franklin indicates what... more research is needed. With the opening of institutional entry compliance channels, it means that a steady stream of traditional capital will flow in the future, and it feels like the balance is tipping.

Walrus does have some substance; even Grayscale has endorsed the trust product.

Once again, it's the story of institutional entry. I believe it... The last time I said this, I was still buying JPG, haha. Pricing power shifting to institutions? Retail investors who are willing to risk it all have already gotten used to it—A cultivation story of the leek mentality.

Institutional entry means investing money. This wave of Walrus is indeed impressive; with a16z involved, how could it be lacking?
