Web3 data infrastructure layer has long been constrained by an awkward status quo—most projects remain at the "static storage" initial stage, unable to meet the demands of emerging scenarios like AI agents and RWA on-chain for dynamic data.

Walrus aims to change this situation. Led by Mysten Labs, this project uses RedStuff two-dimensional coding technology as its technical foundation, leveraging the high-performance features of the Sui ecosystem to build a data layer protocol that combines efficiency, verifiability, and programmability. It sounds complex, but the core logic is simple: break through the efficiency ceiling of decentralized storage, empower it with AI and RWA scenarios, and redefine the value of the data layer within the entire ecosystem.

Walrus's ambitions go far beyond just being a storage tool. It aims to create the next generation of programmable data infrastructure for Web3—through technological breakthroughs to lower barriers, bind the ecosystem with economic models, and activate value through scenario implementation. With a three-pronged approach, it ultimately seeks to become the core hub connecting storage, computation, and real-world assets.

From a technical perspective, RedStuff encoding combined with PoA consensus mechanism rebuilds the efficiency and security foundation of the data layer. This combination not only handles more complex data requirements but also ensures system verifiability. In other words, Walrus aims to use technological innovation to open the doors to new scenarios like AI and RWA, rather than remaining trapped in traditional storage paradigms.

Once again, it's the story of the Sui ecosystem. RedStuff encoding sounds impressive, but can it really be implemented? --- Walrus wants to be the data layer hub? Sounds good, but I'm afraid it's just a concept over application. --- I've heard the phrase "breaking the efficiency ceiling" too many times. The key is whether TPS and costs can truly be improved. --- On-chain RWA requires programmability. This set is indeed stronger than a pure storage layer, but what about the ecosystem's cold start? --- A three-pronged approach sounds good, but how is the economic model designed? That's the real focus. --- Decentralized storage always gets stuck on efficiency. If Walrus can truly break through, that would be impressive. --- PoA consensus combined with RedStuff feels like paving the way for Sui. --- The question is, how many projects will actually use this dynamic data layer?

Can Walrus really break the deadlock? It still seems to depend on whether the ecosystem can keep up.

Another new thing in the Sui ecosystem. Will it finally be able to be implemented this time?

It's another big project, RedStuff, that I've never even heard of.

Another new project in the Sui ecosystem, RedStuff coding sounds quite impressive --- Honestly, with so many storage projects now, how many are truly usable? --- Haha, the name Walrus is quite ambitious --- AI and RWA scenarios, both still seem to be in the PPT stage --- Wait, another PoA consensus? How is this different from others? --- Projects led by Mysten Labs are at least more reliable, but it still depends on actual performance --- Suddenly realizing that what Web3 truly lacks is usable infrastructure, not just concepts --- Programmable data layers sound good, but who will pay for it?

Another "revolutionary" storage solution, but it still depends on whether it can truly be implemented.
