#以太坊大户持仓变化 $ETH Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin recently expressed his views on on-chain scaling, presenting an interesting perspective — instead of solely pursuing low latency, it’s more reliable to focus on increasing bandwidth.

His reasoning is as follows: reducing latency is constrained by physical limits (speed of light, node distribution) and economic realities (censorship resistance, operating costs), leaving little room for imagination. But bandwidth is different. Through solutions like PeerDAS and zero-knowledge proofs, theoretically, it can achieve thousands of times the scaling potential while maintaining decentralization.

Vitalik emphasizes that Ethereum should be positioned as a stable and reliable heartbeat of the world, rather than an ultra-fast gaming server. What about applications that truly require millisecond responses? They can be handled off-chain. This also explains why layer 2 networks will remain viable even in a highly scaled future of Ethereum — because the architecture itself is designed with this in mind.

Wait a minute... Is Vitalik's statement hinting at the fund flow of certain major players? When mentioning PeerDAS and zero-knowledge proofs, the off-chain solutions are emphasized, and it feels like there's a quiet shift towards Layer 2... I need to check if any institutional addresses have been making large transfers to Arbitrum or Optimism recently.

Honestly, he’s on the right track with bandwidth. The latency ceiling is right there, and no one can escape it. VB’s approach is very clear this time, and the idea of a global heartbeat is pretty clever... By the way, layer2s should be thankful. Wait, can peerDAS really achieve thousands of times increase? Am I understanding too superficially, or is this a bit of an overhype? Using an off-chain solution for game servers in this logical chain feels like what ETH should be doing—keeping it simple and stable.

Bandwidth is better than latency, and this logic is indeed absolute. V God has won again. I keep saying that Ethereum's architecture design doesn't really care about those ultra-fast fantasies.

The bandwidth approach is indeed more solid and much more reliable than those who boast about latency.

In plain terms, it's about giving up on latency and focusing on throughput. A very practical approach, much better than those projects that boast about millisecond-level performance.

Bandwidth > latency, this idea is indeed clear, but to be honest, isn't it just using L2 to pass the buck?
