Follow the entire journey of Sui from testnet to mainnet, witnessing this public chain emerge from skepticism and reach new heights. However, to be honest, the current Sui ecosystem is not yet in its fully developed state.

With ultra-fast TPS and smooth interaction experience, these advantages are present. But what is missing? A truly native data layer.

Think about the current situation—NFT images on Sui still rely on IPFS, and game data is stored on centralized servers. This is not what Web3 should look like, and security is also a concern. The emergence of the Walrus protocol addresses this gap, filling the final shortcoming.

Even more interesting is that Walrus is developed by Mysten Labs, sharing the same Move-based codebase as Sui, with compatible technical DNA. Once Walrus is fully implemented, Sui can truly support a flood of Web2-level applications.

From a certain perspective, believing in Walrus essentially means believing in Sui’s ultimate form. If you think Sui can surpass Ethereum and Solana, then you should also believe that Walrus will lead in the storage track. The two are interdependent—one’s success is the other's success. Sui has already launched, and Walrus won’t fall behind, right? This is the inevitable logic of ecosystem explosion.

Wait, NFT images are still hosted on IPFS? Isn't that just centralized with a different name? I really can't hold it anymore. I will only believe it if Walrus can truly be implemented.

That's a good point, but the key is whether Walrus can be implemented successfully. Right now, isn't it just in the PPT stage?

Just realized there's a missing data layer? Feels a bit late, but the Walrus patch indeed hits the mark.

To be honest, I've heard the Walrus logic too many times, and it still feels a bit hollow. Sui's criticism of the data layer flaws is not wrong, but will it really be the savior of Walrus? I remain skeptical. It's not that it doesn't work; it's just that every time it seems to be a one-sided narrative, which feels a bit like cutting the leeks. Let's wait until it is implemented; it's too early to discuss now.

Speaking of Walrus, it really is the final piece of the Sui puzzle. Otherwise, things would be a bit awkward right now. I've been saying all along that the storage layer is the key, and now someone has finally taken over.

Walrus is really the missing piece to complete the puzzle; otherwise, how could Sui truly take off?

Walrus is really the final piece of the Sui puzzle; otherwise, speed alone is useless. The data layer is the core.
