On January 13, YZi Labs made a “multi-8-figure” investment in Genius Trading, and CZ will also join the project as an advisor. Genius Trading is building a privacy-centric decentralized trading platform that offers spot, perpetual contracts, and copy trading through a self-custodied, cross-chain integrated trading terminal, aiming to become an on-chain alternative to CEX. According to Genius co-founder and CEO Armaan Kalsi, YZi Labs’ investment took place last month and was significantly above $10 million. He declined to disclose the specific size and investment structure (equity, tokens, or a hybrid), and did not respond to whether Genius plans to issue its own tokens. Genius positions itself as a unified on-chain trading terminal that allows users to access liquidity across more than 10 blockchains—including BNB Chain, Solana, Ethereum, Hyperliquid, Base, Avalanche, and Sui—without needing cross-chain bridges, wallet switching, or exposing trading strategies on-chain.
