Pi has announced multiple technical updates to advance the mainnet migration and KYC verification work: Currently, 16 million pioneers have completed the mainnet migration, and nearly 2.5 million pioneers who were previously locked due to security and compliance checks have been unlocked and their transferable balances automatically migrated; in the coming weeks, over 700,000 pioneers will have their KYC application permissions unlocked. Relevant users can check and submit applications within the Pi app.
Pi is about to launch a palmprint authentication beta testing feature, which does not require facial recognition and can assist with liveness checks, account verification, and other functions. In the future, it may be applied to account recovery, password resets, and other security scenarios. The feature will first be tested and evaluated with some pioneers.
The reward distribution work for KYC verifiers is progressing as planned. The design and implementation have been completed and are currently in the testing phase. Deployment is expected to be completed by the end of March 2026. Since this involves processing hundreds of millions of complex verification task data since 2021, this work must balance fairness, system scalability, and on-chain computational security.
This phased unlocking of migration and KYC permissions is due to the need for customized technical solutions for different pioneer groups. This approach ensures compliance and the detection of violations while allowing more genuine pioneers to participate. The series of updates further expand the Pi community, strengthen its mainnet blockchain advantage with full identity verification, and the official team also urges pioneers to complete the relevant steps and actively participate in KYC verification work in their regions. $PI

It's a preparation for mapping 16 million, not for actual mapping.
