The cruel iron law of investing: potential for liquidation, long-term returns inevitably zero

There is a harsh rule in investing:
As long as your system has the possibility of liquidation to zero,
In the long run, your expected returns are destined to be zero.

No matter how many times you've won before or how many multiples you've gained,
Even if you're right 999 times,
As soon as you lose everything completely once,
All your accumulated gains will be instantly wiped out.
This is not pessimism; it's mathematics.

Truly mature players
The first lesson is always to learn
How to prevent any single trade from killing your entire account.

Don't test probabilities with luck.
Only by staying alive can you keep playing.
