Morgan Stanley filed an application with the OCC regulator on February 18th for approval to establish a trust bank. The new organization will be called Morgan Stanley Digital Trust. The project involves creating a specialized platform for handling clients' digital coins within the framework of federal regulation and enhanced supervision. According to Bloomberg and Forbes, a related company will provide custodial storage of individual assets, facilitate transactions and financial transfers. There are also plans to introduce cryptocurrency staking services. The format of a national trust bank allows for providing custody and asset protection services on behalf of investors without a traditional deposit model, but with strict compliance with OCC requirements.
