In southern Peru's Espinar region, the likelihood of copper-gold porphyry discovery has increased
DLP Resources Inc. announced the results of a geochemical survey at the Espelanza project in southern Peru. The survey analyzed samples collected from three out of nine trenches for copper, gold, silver, and 49 other elements. These trenches are located within a roughly 300-meter by 700-meter oxidized copper zone, with copper mineralization intervals reported from 48 meters to 82 meters. The average copper content ranges from 0.29% to 2.29%.
The area of the Espelanza project shows indicative features of a copper-molybdenum porphyry system, with various geological characteristics associated with hydrothermal fluids. Notably, the association of bismuth and molybdenum suggests the possible presence of a high-temperature fluid source nearby, providing an effective vector toward the center of the porphyry system. Additionally, gold anomalies are concentrated along structural zones, with silver reaching up to 82 grams per ton in some areas, though affected by later hydrothermal activity.
DLP CEO Ian Janda commented, “The trenching results have yielded positive outcomes for multiple elements, including copper mineralization up to 82 meters long,” and expressed optimism about the discovery potential through the company’s two copper-molybdenum projects in Peru.
Meanwhile, Joe Phillips has joined the board of directors. With extensive mining experience in North and South America, his insights are expected to significantly aid DLP’s project advancement. Upon his appointment, the company granted him stock options valid for five years.
The Espelanza project is an early-stage exploration project located in southern Peru, covering 13,900 hectares. These results enhance the project’s exploration potential, especially supporting the possibility of discoveries at structural boundaries and in areas with exposed copper outcrops.
