Enjin Unveils Token Groups to Bring Order to Massive NFT Collections - Crypto Economy
Enjin launched Token Groups, a new functionality that will serve as an on-chain organization layer for NFT collections within its ecosystem.
This tool allows creators to group tokens under categories within a single collection, such as weapons, character classes, seasonal rewards, or ingredient sets, without imposing rigid hierarchies or predefined game logic. A token can belong to multiple groups simultaneously, providing flexibility to structure assets according to each project’s needs.
One of the most important aspects of the functionality is metadata inheritance. If a token has no individually defined metadata, it automatically inherits it from the group it belongs to. This reduces repetition when configuring large collections and allows shared data to be set at the group level, with the option to override it on specific tokens when distinction is required.
Groups can be created manually or generated automatically from shared attributes such as URI, names, or multimedia content. Automatic generation detects clusters of at least three tokens with common characteristics. Token Groups is already available on NFT.io and Enjin Wallet, where collectors can view their organized assets. Integration with Enjin Platform is planned for a future release.
