Breaking News:

Preliminary assessment results indicate that the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier faces more serious issues than just a "laundry room fire."
According to Bloomberg, citing a report from the Pentagon testing office, the more critical problems of the USS Ford ( beyond the laundry compartment fire ) include: lack of data to evaluate key systems such as weapon elevators, jet launch/recovery systems, radar, and survivability if struck by enemy fire.
Additionally, there is a shortage of sleeping quarters ( requiring an extra 159 beds ), no allocated funds for repairing drone/submarine defense systems, and pressures to maintain operational capability after over 9 months at sea with incomplete combat testing.
