I just noticed that many new friends want to start trading futures but don't fully understand the risks, so I want to share some personal experiences.

First, what is futures? It is a leveraged trading method on exchanges. Essentially, you predict the price trend—Long if you forecast an increase, Short if you predict a decrease. Almost all coin trading platforms support this feature. It sounds simple, but in reality, trading futures has many pitfalls.

The most dangerous aspect is leverage. Most exchanges allow a maximum leverage of x100. For example, if you have $1 and use x100 leverage, the exchange lends you an additional $99, giving you a total of $100 to trade. It sounds attractive, but that’s borrowed money. If you choose the wrong direction, and your loss reaches your initial capital, your assets will be liquidated—completely wiped out. I’ve seen too many newcomers lose everything because of this.

So, if you want to trade futures more safely, first understand (Stop Loss) and (Take Profit). These are the two most important tools for risk management. Most exchanges have automatic configuration features for these points. When placing an order, you must use them—never ignore them.

Based on my experience, I have a few principles for beginners:

If trading BTC, only use a maximum leverage of x5 or less. If trading ETH or altcoins, then x3 or less. This helps reduce the risk of sudden liquidation.

Second, diversify your capital, adding multiple layers instead of going all-in at once. This approach helps you better withstand losses if the market moves against you.

Third, always pay attention to the (liquidation price). Try to set it as far away as possible to have a buffer when prices fluctuate. Otherwise, you might get an email about your assets being liquidated with just a quick glance.

In summary, trading futures is not the fastest way to make money, but it’s also the quickest way to lose money if you're not careful. These words are just based on personal experience and are not investment advice. Be sure to learn more and understand thoroughly before starting to trade.
