ServiceNow acquires internet of things security giant Armis for 11 trillion KRW in a flash... comprehensively enhancing AI security.

Global workflow automation company ServiceNow officially announced that it will acquire internet of things security startup Armis for $7.75 billion (approximately 11.16 trillion Korean won). The transaction will be conducted entirely in cash, with the acquisition price reflecting a premium of about $1.5 billion over Armis's valuation during its investment round last November, which included participation from Alphabet's growth investment fund CapitalG.

Armis provides technological protection against cyber attacks for various connected devices (such as industrial robots, office printers, etc.) through a security platform called Centrix. Traditional security solutions typically collect data by installing agents within the system, while Armis uses an agentless approach to detect connected devices and identify potential threats, and its differentiated technological competitiveness has been recognized by the industry.

ServiceNow plans to expand its cybersecurity product portfolio through this acquisition and enhance workflow automation capabilities within its platform. The platform particularly focuses on automating malware analysis, isolation, and incident response processes, and plans to further optimize its configuration management database capabilities based on Armis's technology. In addition, the company is also advancing the integration of the “AI control tower” to support the security of artificial intelligence applications.

Amit Zaveri, head of products and operations at ServiceNow, said: “Modern cybersecurity risks are not limited to a single system. By embedding security directly into ServiceNow's AI platform, we will expand its protective reach.”

ServiceNow has revealed that its cybersecurity and risk management business has recently surpassed the $1 billion annual recurring revenue mark, and it expects the market opportunity for this business to expand more than threefold through the acquisition of Armis. Currently, Armis has an annual revenue of over $340 million, with an annual revenue growth rate of over 50%.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2026, and ServiceNow plans to fund the acquisition using its cash and debt. Armis is the second security company to be brought under its umbrella following ServiceNow's announcement earlier this month of the acquisition of cybersecurity startup Veza. It is reported that the acquisition price for Veza is approximately $1 billion.

The series of large-scale security enterprise acquisitions indicates that ServiceNow's strategy is shifting from technology integration to building a comprehensive security system that encompasses data security and response to AI threats. This also aligns with the growing demand for security capabilities from enterprises in the new threat environment where AI attacks are on the rise, and the boundaries between physical devices, cloud, and AI infrastructure are increasingly blurred.
