Gate News bot messages, according to Bitcoin com, Lightning Labs announced the release of Taproot Assets v0.6.
This update allows assets to be minted (such as stablecoins), which can be instantly sent via the Lightning Network at low cost, enhancing the functionality and security of the network. It is worth noting that Tether is combining USDT with on-chain transactions and Lightning Network support to enable users to conduct cost-effective cross-border payments.
The new version introduces the group_key identifier for interchangeable assets, simplifying transactions and enhancing the user experience. In addition, enhancements to the request for quote (RFQ) protocol facilitate seamless asset conversion, allowing users to efficiently send and receive different currencies. With these updates, Lightning Labs aims to develop the Lightning Network into a decentralized foreign exchange trading platform, further promoting the popularity of Taproot Assets.
