Following that line of reasoning, you'd struggle to truly claim ownership of most equities or conventional assets either. It raises a fundamental question about what genuine ownership really means in today's financial system.

NGL, that's why I think the entire concept of ownership should have been redefined long ago... You say you own stocks, but the broker, exchange, and regulatory agencies are all there. Do you really own them? Web3 at least has brought this issue to the forefront.

Really? In that case, the concept of "ownership" in the traditional financial system itself deserves a good questioning...

ngl, the whole "ownership" thing is kinda a simulation anyway... statistically speaking, how many people actually *control* their equities vs just holding an IOU from a broker? reminds me of UST in May when everyone realized they didn't own shit, just had numbers on a screen lmao

Honestly, if this logic is followed through, the entire financial system would have to redefine "ownership," which feels a bit unsettling.

Nah, if this logic continues, even your house won't be yours anymore... You really need to think carefully about what "owning" truly means now.

ngl the whole "ownership" thing is just one big alchemical illusion anyway... you're just renting access to whatever shadow pool the institutions are brewing in. real talk tho 🔮
