The crypto world has never lacked heroes; what it lacks are those who make it to the end. The secret I can share with you is just one word—discipline.

I still remember the crazy wave of 2017. I jumped in with only $5,000, at a time when the market was insanely hot. The owner of the bubble tea shop downstairs was talking about private placement quotas, and people around me were daily sharing screenshots of contracts doubling in a single day. But during that time, I also saw another side—one guy was showing off a sports car he earned, only to be liquidated overnight due to leverage during a sharp market drop, his account wiped out, and he disappeared from all social platforms. There was also a colleague who entered the market with us, chasing a certain coin, and from earning over $50,000, he lost everything—his principal gone. I will never forget the image of him squatting outside the exchange smoking a cigarette.

Seven years have passed. During this time, I’ve experienced three bull and bear cycles, seen the LUNA collapse, the FTX explosion, and regulatory storms. The dozens of people who entered the market with me back then, I am still the only one steadily making money. My $5,000 has grown into a seven-figure sum, and my biggest loss has never exceeded 8%. Even if the market drops 20% one day, I can still sleep soundly.

Why have I survived so long? It’s all thanks to the three iron rules I’m about to share. These are the lessons I learned paying tuition with three accounts that got liquidated.

**Rule 1: Profits Must Be Put in Your Pocket**

The biggest trap in the crypto world is right here—many people treat unrealized gains as real money. I’ve seen too many people watch 20% profits turn into losses before they run. That moment of regret can’t change anything. My approach is simple and brutal: set take-profit and stop-loss orders as soon as I enter. Once profits reach 10%, I immediately take half of the profits into a cold wallet.

This money becomes an "absolutely safe asset," and no matter how crazy the market gets afterward, I don’t touch it. The remaining profits are used as "zero-cost ammunition" to continue rolling—win and earn, lose and not lose the principal...

No execution and greed. I remember I invested 45,000 in spot trading, held it for three months, and made 25 times the profit, but I didn't sell. In the end, I lost everything. Without execution and greed, whether it's spot trading or leverage, it all ends in nothing.

Exactly right, but the hardest part is execution. Everyone around me who makes money follows this logic, while those who lose are all greedy.

Really, living is harder than making money --- Discipline is easy to talk about but hard to do. I'm that kind of person who knows but can't do it --- Five thousand dollars for a seven-figure amount? How much psychological preparation is needed to not check the market frequently --- Taking profits sounds simple, but a little tremor and I’d bet everything haha --- The story of that guy getting wiped out and disappearing is so damn heartbreaking... This is the crypto world, right? --- After watching so many people crash, there are really few who can survive a full cycle --- The key is how to withstand that rapid correction mentality, which is even harder than strategy --- Take half out at 10%? That's too conservative, greed still kills --- Having seen so many collapses in seven years, only warriors still dare to play with contracts --- Honestly, not chasing the rise and avoiding leverage sounds so simple it's almost embarrassing

Sounds like a motivational story, but the one about that guy sitting downstairs of the exchange smoking is really heartbreaking...
