I just have a great curiosity.
This period has been very slow for me. I haven't looked at the charts, kept everything on mute, and really wanted to disconnect a bit from everything related to crypto.
That said, at Christmas dinners, the topic was inevitably discussed, and I had a conversation with someone who has been following the market for some time and was interested in investing some, especially after seeing the correction on BTC. At least they understood that it's healthier to buy during corrections.
From word of mouth, I was saying that yes, it's okay to start a DCA on BTC and ETH, to be patient, and to think in years, not months, when the question came:
But if I invest in [ALTCOIN X], doesn't it have a better chance to double faster than Bitcoin?
The question surprised me because the same question was asked by a friend a few days earlier. That's when I realized.
No matter what happens with altcoins, no matter how much suffering there has been in recent years, they remain the go-to place for any new retail investor entering the market.
Again, we're talking about people who have been dabbling in crypto for some time, watching, reading, but have never actually invested money.
Bitcoin and Ethereum are no longer trendy for them because they offer too small returns, at least in their perception.
So I return to my curiosity.
You, who have stayed here, what do you choose for the future?
BTC and ETH or ALTs?
