Today, I don't know why SOL chain's MEME is hot again, and many people are talking about 114514. I remember the last time Japanese MEME was popular, it was a very complex Chinese character (I forgot which one), and at that time, the hype was about the first Chinese character MEME, which seemed to be popular for a while. Of course, the ending was zero. I quickly checked the background:
114514 comes from a Japanese film in 2001 called 《BABYLON STAGE 34 仲夏夜之淫梦 the IMP》.
In the film, an actor (nicknamed "Beast Senpai" by netizens) says the line “いいよ!こいよ!” (roughly "Come on! Yeah!"), which is playfully represented by the number 114514 as a pun with the digits.
Looking at the K-line, it already shows a classic MEME trend, and I wonder if there's a second wave.
