The highlights of the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) have already emerged. This time, the main focus remains on the collision between two giants—AI chips and autonomous driving technology.
From the chip perspective, Nvidia and AMD plan to make big moves in the second half of this year by launching new flagship chips. Their actions have always been industry benchmarks, signaling that the competition for AI computing power has entered a heated phase. Meanwhile, Intel and Dell are also not to be outdone, teaming up to launch new AI-based PCs, attempting to tap into this consumer wave of benefits.
Autonomous driving is even more lively. Mercedes-Benz plans to launch commercial autonomous driving models in the US market in Q1, with surprisingly quick action. Uber will follow later this year, deploying autonomous taxis on real roads. Lucid and Nuro are more aggressive—they are already preparing to start road tests and directly put autonomous taxis on the streets.
From the chip foundation to mobility applications, the entire industry chain is accelerating its iteration. The second half of the year may well be the watershed moment for this wave of technological upgrades.
