North America's largest Bitcoin ATM operator Bitcoin Depot has reached a $1.9 million settlement agreement with the Maine Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection (BCCP) to compensate victims who encountered third-party scams through its cryptocurrency ATMs in Maine. The affected individuals are residents who used the devices within the state during 2022–2025 and transferred funds to non-custodial wallets at the scammer's request. Claims are due by April 1, 2026, with payments expected in May. As part of the agreement, Bitcoin Depot also obtained a Maine money transfer license. (cryptopolitan)
