On January 8th, a key piece of information was revealed—Fasial Tariq, the founder of the cryptocurrency project Paradox Coin, was linked to a large-scale illegal weight-loss drug manufacturing and sales chain. How did this connection come about? The investigation pointed to a detail: after the payment service for the illegal weight-loss drug brand Alluvi's e-commerce website, Ecommerce Nutri Collectiv, was interrupted, the page redirected directly to the Paradox Labs official website. The predecessor of this organization was the crypto venture capital firm Paradox Studio founded by Tariq.
Speaking of Tariq, he is not an unknown figure in the crypto circle—he previously caused quite a stir for operating the blockchain game project Paradox Metaverse. Renowned crypto investigator Coffeezilla publicly questioned the project's economic model design and promotional issues. Looking back now, these controversies might just be the tip of the iceberg.
What’s more striking is the law enforcement action. The illegal drug production site was located in Northampton Industrial Park, and the registered company in the park, Wholesale Supplements Limited, was headed by Tariq as director. The UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) raided the location in October 2025, seizing thousands of unlicensed weight-loss pens, raw material inventories, and £20,000 in cash. As of now, no arrests have been officially announced. The future development of this case remains to be watched.
