According to the latest data from the FBI, losses caused by crypto ATM scams have risen to $240 million, which is twice the amount of similar cases in 2024. How serious is the situation? Spokane, Washington, has already fully banned the operation of crypto ATMs, making it the strictest city-level ban in the United States.

It seems that more than one city is taking action. Arizona, Arkansas, Vermont, and St. Paul, Minnesota, are all closely monitoring the situation, and many places are beginning to discuss whether to follow Spokane's comprehensive ban. What does this reflect? Multiple states in the US are accelerating their efforts to tighten regulations on crypto ATMs.

One figure worth noting is that approximately 80% of crypto ATMs worldwide are located in the United States. What does this mean? On one hand, it reflects the size of the US market; on the other hand, scam risks are highly concentrated in this region. As regulations tighten and bans expand, the future operation space for these ATMs will face unprecedented pressure.
