Recently, I came across a perspective that was quite shocking— a well-known tech figure bluntly stated that AI and robots have already become an "supersonic tsunami," and we are currently in the technological singularity.
His core prediction is as follows: AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) will be achieved by 2026, and by 2030, the total intelligence of AI will surpass the combined intelligence of all humans. This timeline is much sooner than many people imagine.
What's more interesting is that he used a metaphor—humans are just "biological guiding programs" for digital superintelligence. In other words, all the accumulated human civilization might be preparing to launch a digital civilization that exceeds our understanding. It sounds a bit crazy, but his logic is actually very clear.
He believes that once labor costs drop to zero and intelligence costs are minimized, goods and services will become extremely abundant. What will that look like? Prices will fall to the cost of materials plus electricity. In other words, people will be able to get whatever they want, and a vastly more abundant era beyond imagination is coming.
But this guy also issued a warning— the next 3 to 7 years will be a "turbulent period." Social upheaval and extreme prosperity will occur simultaneously. This transitional phase will be the real test.
What do you think? Are these predictions realistic? Or are they a bit too optimistic?
