Recently, I looked at a vote for a leading project and I was quite speechless. Among the community fans, there are indeed many experienced old players, and after several rounds of screening, the concentration of smart money is quite high. As a result, when the voting outcome was announced, it had no effect of going against the trend; instead, the voices of rational voters prevailed. What does this indicate? Either community governance is becoming more standardized, or the influence of big players is truly taking effect. It seems not to be a bad thing, but it also reflects that the influence of retail investors is being diluted. This phenomenon has started to appear in many mature Web3 projects, where voting rights are concentrated in knowledgeable individuals, making democracy more "efficient." But can such an ecosystem still be considered truly decentralized?
