Future Programming Paradigm: Vitalik Buterin Discusses New Prospects for Code Security in the 2030s
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently pointed out that the software development industry is facing a critical turning point. Although most current applications are designed with functionality as the priority, making it unavoidable to have various vulnerabilities and flaws, Buterin believes this situation is not unchangeable.
He stated that with technological evolution, by the 2030s, the traditional notion that “code defects are inevitable” will gradually become invalid. The key is that when developers and enterprises have absolute requirements for code quality, creating completely error-free program code will become an achievable goal rather than an unattainable ideal.
Buterin’s view reflects a deeper reality: many security vulnerabilities in current applications are fundamentally due to development teams making compromises between speed and functionality. However, this Ethereum leader believes that once technological tools and engineering methods become sufficiently mature, we can fully overcome this dilemma.
This prediction marks an important reflection on the future development direction of software engineering—The scenario depicted by Vitalik Buterin suggests that precise, secure code development will no longer be a luxury but a new industry norm.
