Last year, my girlfriend and I went on a trip. On the way, her phone fell and broke.

Repair costs were 1200, which didn’t seem worth it, so she bought a new one online for 3599.
On the return trip, she asked me to calculate how much we spent on the trip.
After calculating, it was over 6000 for four days and three nights. She said she had lost more than a month’s salary.
She said she needed to work hard when she got back. I told her it’s okay, it’s rare to go out once a year, and having fun is the most important thing.
Then she suddenly asked how much I had in savings. I said around ten thousand.
She asked when I would marry her. I said around fifteen or sixteen thousand in savings.
She asked how long it would take. I said around October next year.
She then said if I hadn’t saved enough by then, she’d lend me some. I was really touched at that moment.
Later, I caught a glimpse of her quietly opening a shopping website, canceling the order for the upcoming 3599 yuan phone, and searching for a good phone around 2000 yuan.
It’s not that I can’t afford it, but seeing her secretly save that thousand yuan made my nose feel sour.
