January–February, our country's express delivery development index increased by 1.5% year-on-year
The National Postal Service today released data showing that from January to February, China’s Express Development Index reached 374.1, a year-on-year increase of 1.5%, with the express market size steadily growing. Driven by multiple factors, the industry exhibits cyclical fluctuations of “peak before the holiday, a dip during the holiday, and rebound after the holiday,” demonstrating strong resilience. This year, under the combined influence of New Year’s Day, New Year shopping festivals, consumption subsidies, and the Spring Festival holiday, the express market size steadily expanded, with the average daily express volume in January exceeding 590 million parcels. Affected by the Spring Festival holiday, industry operations showed clear cyclical fluctuations: the first week of the Spring Festival travel rush saw a peak before the holiday, with an average daily express volume of about 670 million parcels; during the holiday, couriers remained on duty to meet the demand for New Year goods; after the holiday, the express industry quickly returned to normal operations, with the highest daily volume surpassing 700 million parcels.
