Three more civilian ships have been attacked in the Gulf overnight, as the US-Israeli war with Iran continued for a 13th day. At least 18 ships have been struck since the war began, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations.
The Iranian military has also continued to target the Gulf states using missiles and drones with attacks reported in Bahrain, Oman, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar. The Israeli military says it has carried out a “large-scale wave of attacks” in Lebanon as well as further strikes in Iran.
The US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) says 1,276 civilians have been killed, including at least 200 children, since 28 February. Seven US service personnel have been killed since the start of the conflict, according to the Department of Defense.

US and Israeli strikes across Iran
The first US-Israeli strikes on Iran began on 28 February with Israel’s military saying it targeted Iran’s leadership and its military infrastructure. The former Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in Tehran during the initial strikes.
BBC Verify has so far confirmed visual evidence of at least 136 attacks across Iran, including at least 64 strikes in Tehran. The US said on Wednesday it has attacked 5,500 targets across Iran.
Satellite imagery reviewed by BBC Verify since the conflict began on 28 February has shown damage to a nuclear facility at Natanz and and three Iranian missile sites. BBC Verify has also seen damaged aircraft at Mehrabad airport in Tehran.
On Wednesday the US said it has destroyed 60 Iranian ships including 16 mine-laying vessels near the Strait of Hormuz. BBC Verify found at least 11 Iranian naval vessels were left damaged or destroyed by strikes at the Konarak and Bandar Abbas naval bases.
On Tuesday the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) posted it had “dismantled” most “key assets” of the Iranian internal security forces since the start of the war.
The US and Israel have also struck Iran’s energy sector with BBC Verify seeing footage of smoke and fires at four Iranian oil facilities following strikes.
In Minab, in the south of Iran, at least 168 people including children were killed at a primary school when it was hit on 28 February, Iranian authorities said. Experts who analysed a video showing a missile moments before it struck the IRGC base next to the school told BBC Verify the munition was a US Tomahawk. Neither Israel nor Iran are known to possess Tomahawks, experts said.
Gulf states hit by Iranian drone and missile attacks
Iranian missile and drone attacks on its neighbours in the Gulf continued on Wednesday night with a large fire breaking out close to Bahrain’s international airport.
Kuwaiti officials also reported its main airport had come under attack causing some damage but no injuries.
Explosions were also reported in the UAE. A Dubai high-rise building was damaged by what officials said was debris from a “successful interception”.
The UAE Ministry of Defence said at least 268 missiles and 1,514 drones had been launched at the country since the start of the war.
Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Iraq have also come under attack since 28 February.
Israel strikes Hezbollah group in Lebanon
Hezbollah, the militant group backed by Iran, launched missiles towards Israel following the killing of Khamenei.
Israel accused Iran of launching cluster bomb missile strikes on the country, which has killed two people since Monday. A missile attack on 1 March in the city of Beit Shemesh killed at least nine people and injured 27 others, according to emergency services.
The Israeli military said on Thursday it had carried out around 70 strikes in Beirut against what it called “terrorist infrastructure”.
The Lebanese health ministry said on Wednesday that 570 people had been killed since Israel began its offensive earlier this month.
