Hong Kong Technology Exploration (01137) stated that the seasonal impact brought by the more active consumer spending before the Lunar New Year in January, the longer Lunar New Year holiday in February (during which the average daily outbound travel trips of Hong Kong residents increased significantly by 20.1% year-on-year), and the fewer days in February contributed to the slowdown in Hong Kong’s e-commerce business performance in February this year.

During the period, HKTVmall’s total merchandise transaction value was HKD 614 million, a decrease of 16.9% month-on-month; it also declined by 3.5% year-on-year.

In February, the average daily total merchandise transaction value was HKD 21.9 million, down 8% month-on-month and 3.5% year-on-year. The number of independent customers was 589,000, a decrease of 7.97% month-on-month, but an increase of 4.8% year-on-year.
