U.S. Consulate General in Peshawar, Pakistan Suspends Operations

The U.S. Embassy in Pakistan announced on the 2nd local time that the U.S. Consulate General in Peshawar has suspended operations starting March 2nd. The embassy located in Islamabad will continue to serve U.S. citizens. The announcement also stated that due to ongoing traffic disruptions and detours around the U.S. Consulates General in Karachi and Lahore, all U.S. visa and U.S. citizen services appointments scheduled for the 3rd have been canceled at both locations. The announcement advised U.S. citizens in Pakistan to stay informed through local news and to pay attention to personal safety, including staying alert and avoiding crowded places. (CCTV News)
