Maintaining Social Operations and Providing Quality Public Services to Citizens

Yang Ho Pei-yin, Director of the Civil Service Bureau, stated that civil servants have always played a vital role in participating in the formulation, promotion, and implementation of policies, maintaining social stability, and providing high-quality public services to citizens. An efficient, professional, and dedicated civil service team is the backbone of good governance.

Yang Ho Pei-yin pointed out that the current government is committed to reforming the government governance system. Over the past three years, efforts have been made to strengthen governance, including updating the Civil Service Code, establishing a civil servant mobilization mechanism, and promoting a clear reward and penalty system. Civil Servants Should Proactively Understand the 14th Five-Year Plan

She emphasized that this year marks the beginning of the country’s 14th Five-Year Plan. All civil servants should proactively understand the content of the plan and actively consider how to integrate their work to contribute to Hong Kong’s alignment with the plan, helping Hong Kong better integrate into and serve the national development strategy.

Senior Scientific Officer of the Hong Kong Observatory, Wong Wai-kit, who was recognized, said that the Observatory’s work is closely related to the public. They will stay attentive and listen carefully to citizens’ concerns. With frequent extreme weather events, weather forecasting will become more challenging. The Observatory will uphold scientific innovation and a dedicated service spirit.
