People’s Financial News, March 12 — In the recent Israel-U.S. conflict, Spain refused to allow the U.S. to use its military bases. Former U.S. President Donald Trump had previously issued trade threats to Spain over this issue. On March 10, Spanish Prime Minister Sánchez explicitly stated in an interview with the media, “We are not worried about U.S. retaliation.” Sánchez said that Spain’s position has always been consistent, just like 23 years ago when opposing the Iraq War, and when the other side, like the U.S. now, “commits serious mistakes,” Spain must clarify its stance. On March 11, local time, Trump told reporters at the White House that Spain was “not cooperative at all,” “performing very poorly,” and again threatened to “cut off trade relations with Spain.” (CCTV International News)
